Polysaccharide-based chiral stationary phases as efficient tools for diastereo- and enantioseparation of natural and synthetic Cinchona alkaloid analogs

In this study, we present results obtained on the diastereo- and enantioseparation of some basic natural synthetic Cinchona alkaloid analogs by applying liquid chromatographic (LC) subcritical fluid (SFC) modalities amylose cellulose tris-(phenylcarbamate)-based stationary phases using n-hexane/alcohol/DEA or CO2/alcohol/DEA mobile phase systems. Seven chiral in their immobilized form were employed to explore stereoselectivity for a series closely related group analytes. The most important characteristics LC SFC systems evaluated through variation applied conditions (e.g., nature content alcohol modifier, concentration additives, temperature). columns Chiralpak IC IG turned out be best both modalities. Temperature-dependence study indicated enthalpy-controlled separation cases; however, controlled entropy was also registered.
